Is MySQL 5.6 slower than MySQL 5.5?

Currently installed: 5.5.49-cll but I am thinking Upgrade to MySQL 5.6 or MariaDB 10.0 or MariaDB 10.1. Please any one can let me know that what are recommended for xenforo? About Site performance and Speed .... ?

  Hello, You will likely notice more of a difference between MySQL 5.5 and MariaDB compared to MySQL 5.5 and MySQL 5.6. You can search for a term such as "MariaDB vs MySQL performance" on a search engine and receive several results comparing the performance. Thanks!
