CPU Overload When Checking URL

I was just wondering if anyone is experiencing the same problem as far as checking the URL for backlinks and getting high CPU overloads. If I use any backlink checker to check my URL for example, My CPU REALLY get overloaded after 2 seconds. I am pretty sure there is an option somewhere to stop that from happening I just don't know how or where. Any help would be very much appreciate.

  Hello, Your access level is listed as "Website Owner". Do you have root access to this system, or is this a shared account purchased from a web hosting provider? Thank you.
