Domain email backup - outgoing and incoming
Hi
We want to setup a backup system for all the email accounts in a given domain. Here are some points detailing the requirement:
1. We want to backup all incoming and outgoing emails.
2. Each mailbox should be separately backup.
3. All incoming emails which are not rejected at Exim level due to RBL or spam issues should be backed up.
4. We should save a copy of emails even if these are deleted through webmail or downloaded and deleted.
Sorry, I know a few points are redundant but wanted to be double sure.
I will really appreciate if you suggest a solution that is ideal but might cost more and a solution that may be slightly limited but less costly.
TIA.

On a quick reading, I see 3 challenges. 1. All the emails are archived in a single account. We need individual archives for each account. 2. Mails are archived in separate directories for each day. This might present a challenge when looking for a certain email. 3. Mails are archived before the filters are applied. Spam mails will fill up the archive much sooner than normal. 0 -
Hello, It's not possible to change how the email archives are handled, however it's a good method to gather all emails if you prefer to develop a custom script that organizes the emails and then generates a backup. You can also find paths for email data on the following document: How to Manually Migrate Accounts to cPanel from Unsupported Control Panels - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation You may also find interest in the following feature request: I would like to see an option in cPanel Backups to backup certain parts of the account Thank you. 0 -
Thanks Michael. I will evaluate this solution. 0
