Backup to mounted ftp using curlftpfs
Good morning
according your opinion and experience, it's safe:
- mount locally an FTP server using curlftpfs
- add cPanel backup location to ftp-mounted directory?
I have a FTP backup space that is accessible only from my server's IP. This should help me to easily browse backup FTP server for downloading, etc.
Thank you
Carlo

Hello, cPanel offers no native support for curlftpfs mounts, however I don't see anything that would prevent it from working as a backup location. Could you try mounting it and let us know if you encounter any issues? Thank you. 0 -

Hi Michael thank you for your reply. I'm glad to say that I tried mounting locally a remote FTP server and worked perfectly. Absolutely fast and transparent... and my remote server is seen by my cPanel box exactly like a local directory. This is the syntax:curlftpfs my-ftp-login:my-ftp-password@my-ftp-server /mnt/my-ftp-server-or-whatever-you-want
Very useful for using as backup location. I would suggest cPanel to support and encourage the use of curlftpfs ;) Thank you Carlo0 -
I'm happy to see it's working as intended. Thank you for updating us with the outcome. 0
