/etc/resolv.conf - Host lookup did not complete
Hi,
We recently move a domain on one of our servers from a shared IP to a dedicated IP. Everything went quite smooth but shortly after we started to notice quite some problems.
I have this weird problem where my logs tell me the following:
Host lookup did not complete
So I kind of immediately thought om the /etc/resolv.conf and tried various nameservers settings like Google's, those of my datacenter, ... None of them seem to solve the problem.
Shortly after that I noticed all mail we are trying to send to a domain off server gets stuck in the queue.
Another weird thing is all reserved subdomains like webmail, cpanel, ... suddenly redirect to one and the same subdomain.
Anyone got an idea?
Reagards,
Stevie

Hello :) As it is an IP migration, there is high possibility for DNS cache issue. Do check and make sure that the domain's DNS settings are correct and it resolves to the configured IP through any online tools such as intodns.com 0 -
Hello :), Can you please update here current /etc/resolv.conf file content and also please provide me exact mail logs from your server so that we can assist you on this. 0 -
Hello, You may also want to verify the new IP address is permitted to send/receive traffic in any firewall rules configured on the system. Thank you. 0
