cPanel download link not working
Hello, today I signed up for a trial of cPanel. When I click the download link, I get a txt file and nothing happens. I've tried this on my Windows 10 host as well as CentOS 7 guest. Both give the same result. I'm attaching a screenshot of the txt. Please take a look and reply with how to download cPanel for CentOS 7. Thanks!

I don't think you understand, please read the page I linked you to. You don't actually download cPanel, you run a command on your server: "To install cPanel & WHM on your server, run the following command:" And that command, does this: "This command changes your session to the home directory, downloads the latest version of cPanel & WHM, and runs the installation script." 0 -
You're trying to install this as user mheld. You need to do this as the 'root' user. Don't use sudo for this. Simply login as root and install the software. 0 -
Hi, me again. I logged in as root and tried it. It worked a little but then I got an error. I will attach another screenshot. The error was with my hostname (localhost.localdomain.) What should I enter for host name? If this doesn't work I'll have cPanel support install it for me. I'll report back. Thanks for all the replies. Here's the pic. 0 -
The docs are your best friend right now. For example, in your screenshot you're on your desktop. You shouldn't have a desktop. Installation Guide - System Requirements - Documentation - cPanel Documentation From the docs: [LIST] - New installations of cPanel & WHM on CentOS servers must use CentOS version 6.5 or later.
- We recommend that you use the minimal installer, especially if you choose to install CentOS 7.
- cPanel & WHM only supports 64-bit systems on CentOS 7. [/quote
