Webmail Reset Password Not Working
I noticed this feature was just added. I wanted to test it myself before I sent out a mass email with instructions for it. I logged into webmail and clicked update contact info. Under:
Enter an email address to receive account notifications. Do not use an email address with the "currentdomain.com" domain.
I put in:
*********@gmail.com
Then saved it. Clicked back on to make sure it saved, which it did. Then signed out. I clicked the reset password button. It asks me for my username so I put in *******@currentdomain.com and hit reset password. It then asks me to contact email so I put in ********@gmail.com and clicked send security code. This is what I get:
The email address you provided does not match our records.

CPanel Support says this feature requires you to use paper lantern. I was still using x3. 0 -
This would be a great feature if the Webmail users could add the secondary email address themselves. The whole point of this is to take some responsibility off the Cpanel users and allow the Webmail users to reset forgotten passwords. In its current state the Cpanel user still has to collect secondary email addresses from every single Webmail user for them to be able to use this feature. There needs to be a spot on the Webmail Portal for Webmail level users to be able to make some changes to User Manager like Secondary Email Address and Name, but nothing else. 0 -
Hello, This is new functionality that continues to expand and evolve. You can follow the progress of the feature at: Multiple cPanel Logins (cPanel Subusers) Note the issue you have reported is addressed in cPanel 58 with changes stemming from internal case LC-3742. Thank you. 0
