New hello everyone . I activated password protect for a directory ( not public_html, a sub domain ) and the protection works well for html files but for a jpg file in that directory, the user authorization not working . what's the problem with this ??

Hello, Could you let us know what in particular is not working? For instance, are you sure the image does not load because you have already authenticated? Thank you.

yes . sure . I have tried it on another computer and also in incognito mode on chrome . for .html file, it works but for the jpg file it doesn't work . I have a subdomain that points to a folder in my home directory . I activated password protection directory for that folder and put a .html file in that . the html file requires authorization for access but a jpg file in same directory doesn't require .

Hello, Could you let us know the contents of the .htaccess file within that directory? Ensure you post it in CODE tags and remove any real domain names or IP addresses. Thank you.

Your access level is listed as "Website Owner". Could you verify that you do not have root access to this system? If not, please report this issue to your web hosting provider so they can take a closer look. Thank you.
