SSL for host renewal

I have my own SSL for my host and it is coming due within 60 days. I noticed on another server running Build 56 that the SSL is from cPanel. Do I need to renew my SSL for my host if it is running version 56? Will it simply replace my existing SSL or are there steps I need to take once mine expires? Thanks
