PHPmyAdmin + MySQL bug and workaround

I just ran into this problem today... I'm stunned that all of these years later this is still an issue. Changing the account password from the List Accounts page says that it fixes the mysql password, but it still appears that it does not as of version 56 build 24. Changing the mysql password as shown above is still a valid fix.

  Hello, Do you notice any error messages in /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log when changing the account password? Thank you.
