Cannot send email from Outlook 2016
My old laptop died and when I replaced it I installed Outlook 2016 on the new one. I think my old laptop had Outlook 2010.
Now that I manually configured the email accounts in Outlook, I can receive mail but not send mail for the domains hosted on my cPanel server.
I'm guessing it's a simple configuration value I set wrong in Outlook, because my cPanel server settings have not changed.
Any advice on where to start troubleshooting this?
Thanks,
James

I can still send e-mail via PHP scripts on the sites or by logging into Squirrel Mail through cPanel, so I'm sure this is something specific to my new Outlook 2016 configuration. 0 -

Hello, Could you let us know the specific error message that appears when attempting to send an email? What are you using for your mail server settings in Outlook (replace real domain names with examples)? Thank you.0 -
A few days ago I was seeing an error message. Today when I click on "Test Account Settings", Outlook 2016 crashes and closes. Yeah! What great software, NOT. Maybe I'll have to un-install Outlook 2016 and start over adding accounts in order to troubleshoot this. 0 -

Feel free to let us know if the issue continues if you choose to do this. Thanks!0 -
Before you do that, reboot. Yes, I'm aware it really is a cheesy solution, but you're talking Outlook, Windows and the registry... There's a ton of mess there. 0 -
After much frustration, I un-installed Office 365 and rebooted. Now I'm re-installing Outlook 365. Are any of the cPanel "Auto Configuration Scripts" compatible with Outlook 2016? 0 -

Hello, An auto configuration script for "Outlook 2016" does not exist at this time, however you can use the "Manual Settings" section to determine which settings to use when setting up the email client. Thank you.0 -
Hello, Did the reinstall option fixed the issue? In case you still have issues, try configuring the email account under Thunderbird which is much simple process when compared to Outlook's settings. You can download it from: Thunderbird " Software made to make email easier. 0 -
Also, don't rely on Outlook's "Test Account Settings" as it doesn't always work correctly. Instead, finish your setup, and test by actually sending an email. 0
