How can I block words in the subject line?
-
Have you tried using email filtering instead? cpanel -> Global Email Filters or cPanel -> Email Filters This will work there you may also want to try $header_subject: contains "\(andy\)" I wouldn't really look to filtering something like this though, too many problems with it. Instead, you might give Grscripts assp deluxe a try. A reasonable product at a reasonable cost, honestly, which can setup spamboxes so you can review spam from time to time 0 -
i'll try that 0 -
Hello, Yes, as mentioned in the earlier post, a filter is likely a better approach. You can find documentation on the filter options available in cPanel at: Email Filters - Documentation - cPanel Documentation Global Email Filters - Documentation - cPanel Documentation Thank you. 0 -
Thanks for the replies but nothing I am trying will work. I don't have the email filters under home/email/global email filters so I guess my version (56.28) of whm doesn't have this feature. Any other ideas? Here are some of the email subject lines: (andy) Say hi to Victoria, (andy) Need more women in your life?, (andy) Your old friend Ashley is here, (andy) Ready to bang older women? The common word seems to be (andy) and it seems the ip keeps changing as well as the domain names. I do use Mailwatch/Mailscanner but it isn't catching them although it is awesome for almost everything else. 0 -

Check to ensure the Paper Lantern theme is assigned to the account using the "WHM >> Modify an Account" feature: Modify an Account - Version 56 Documentation - cPanel Documentation Thank you.0 -
Well the email filter isn't working either. Is there not another way to block this type of spam? 0 -

Could you let us know the specific filter rule you added, and how you added it? Thank you.0 -
Sorry for the delay in replying. Mailscanner seems to have caught up with most of these subject lines but one or two still get through. Here are some screenshots of what I tried with the Global Email Filters and Email Filters in the clients CPanel account as there seems to be no way to do this for the whole server in WHM that I can find. 0 -
Hello, You may also find the following thread helpful when researching different methods of implementing filter rules: Reject emails with ZIP files containing EXE files It's different than the specific rule you are seeking, but offers some information you may find helpful. Thank you. 0 -
Thanks Michael, but I presently am not having zip file issues just subject line issues so I'm not sure that this will help me any. Also my limited skill set doesn't allow me to understand a lot of the steps in the post. I'll keep pluggin away until I figure something out. ;) 0
