Best Full Featured Backup Solution?
Currently using the built-in Cpanel backup system which is fine for accounts that are either not hosting mission-critical apps and/or the rate of data change is not very high. I backup daily with 7-day retention, a 2-week and 1-month full also. All set to a second host via FTP.
However I have a couple accounts that if they system goes down, they can't do business and lose money for every hour it's down and more importantly, if they lose data, it creates a huge customer service issue for the customers associated with the lost data.
The rate of data change and size of these companies is not big enough to justify doing a mirror with a host at a different hosting company with realtime MySQL database sync. So I need a solution "in the middle."
Essentially what I think I need is to do hourly backups of the database and the file upload library that is part of the system. However doing full backups this frequently would be foolish and a waste of space. I don't need to worry about multiple restore points because I have the native Cpanel backups I can go to if I need to restore everything to how it was 3 days, 7 days, 2 weeks or 1 month ago (which is highly unlikely I'll need to but better safe than sorry.) I'm not hosting their email so don't really need to worry about frequent backups of the Cpanel account config and email messages.
So this is what I need
- Incremental backups of a specific file directory
- Incremental backups of a specific database
- Specify retention time
- Store on remote server via FTP and restore from remote server
- Low cost
- Easy to config and use
- HTML/GUI Interface
- Preferably cpanel compatible plugin but this isn't a requirements as I know that is going to limit my options
I ran across CpProtect but don't see much discussion anywhere.

Hello, You may want to have the custom application developed for the specific purpose you need it for. You can find a list of system administration services at: System Administration Services Thank you. 0 -

I have been really impressed with Veeam. They have been very easy to install and use. The support is great. Definitely worth looking into.0
