Complete migration to new server with new IP addresses
Apologies for asking what has probably been answered several times. I haven't had to do this in a few years, and WHM has evolved since the last time. Any discussions I'm finding are equally dated. I just want to ensure they may still be relevant.
In a nutshell, I need to completely migrate from and old server to a new server, which has new IP addresses. I cannot migrate the old IP addresses. The old server has about 100 accounts and my namesevers. I want to do this with as little downtime and as much transparency to the account holders as possible. I'll have a couple weeks with both servers online.
I'm fairly sure that the last time I did this, I set up a dns cluster between old and new, which eliminated any downtime and duplication/loss of mail, etc. In reading over the current documentation on the WHM Transfer Tool, it doesn't mention anything about setting up a dns cluster between old.myhosting.com and new.myhosting.com.
My gut says, set up a dns cluster, move a couple of accounts, if it all looks good, move the rest of the accounts, then go to the registrar and update the IPs for my name servers.
Can anyone offer a little guidance?

Hello, This is essentially the preferred method of migrating a server. We have a document you can follow at: How to Move All cPanel Accounts from One Server to Another - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation However, you can skip the steps related to migrating the IP address itself. Also, review the "Minimize Your Downtime" tab at: cPanel Migration Services and Guides - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation Let us know if you have any questions about this process. Thank you.0
