Branding paper_lantern - not working

Hey there community! New here, be nice ;) A while ago, one of my (no longer employed) junior sys admins modified some of the core files for branding in Paper Lantern, instead of using the branding manager. Now that we've updated our logo, I'm attempting to change things but it's not working, it just keeps reverting to the images that he changed through FTP (though I've looked in the paper_lantern/brand and branding folders and have found nothing. All I see when I inspect the old logo image is a directory of /brand/logo.png?=029348 with no full filepath. I've gone through this thread here (Deleted Branding Style still appearing) and attempted to find that directory in /usr/local/cpanel/ with no luck. There are no resellers on this cPanel server, just me. Any idea where these may have changed? I understand this is extremely vague... So feel free to harass me for more information.
