Enable backup for accounts?
Just an FYI... I seem to be experiencing this too, on a brand new server,
CENTOS 6.8 x86_64 standard " WHM 58.0 (build 19) - Paper Lantern theme
In the client's cPanel/Backup they can download Daily/Weekly/(and I assume Monthly eventually) under System Backups, but under Account Backups, it says "You do not have any automatically generated backups that are currently available. Your server administrator or server owner must enable this feature."
That seems a little confusing to me. Is that what it should say?

Hello, This message is accurate if automatic backups are disabled for this account. You can check to see if automatic backups are enabled via "WHM >> Backup >> Backup User Selection". Thank you.0 -
OK. Then what's the difference between the system backups, that I have globally configured, and an automatic backup that I might configure at "WHM >> Backup >> Backup User Selection"? 0 -
System backups include server configuration files as opposed to account data. Documentation on system backups is available at: System Backups - Documentation - cPanel Documentation Thank you. 0 -

Assuming you moved your accounts to this server and they had backups saved to the account already (you should see a date on them under "Backups Available for Download:", and assuming you have not enabled cPanel backups yet on the new server, this is probably why you're seeing what you see. I say this as I can see the same thing on this end, on a stage server. Backups were enabled at one time, the cPanel user Generated a Full Website Backup, and since then backups on that server have been disabled.0 -
Sorry, either I'm still a little confused, or I'm not explaining myself well... On the new server, Home " Backup " Legacy Backup Configuration Backup Status: enabled Backup Interval: daily Backup Retention: all Days to Run Backup: all ... Backup Accounts: enabled Compress Account Backups: enabled Backup Configuration Files: enabled Backup SQL Databases: Per Account Only ... Backup Type: standard With this configuration, accounts started backing up as expected when transferred. If I go to a users 'cPanel " Backup' there is nothing under Account Backups except the message quoted in the first post. Under System Backups there are buttons for Daily and Weekly (and I assume eventually monthly) which if I click on, downloads daily.tar.gz which expands to a directory named after the user with the list of files/dirs below. It was my understanding that I only have to choose specific users in the backup configuration if I don't want all user accounts to backup. @cPanelMichael are you suggesting that if I go through and select specific users from the bottom of the backup configuration page, that I will get some other form of backup? Thanks, v Example folder listing of the backups I am currently getting for each user account, when configured as above. username: addons bandwidth: bandwidth_db: bandwidth_db.json counters: cp: cron: digestshadow dnszones: domainkeys: has_sslstorage homedir: homedir_paths httpfiles: ips: locale: logs: meta: mm: mma: mms: mysql: mysql-timestamps: mysql.sql nobodyfiles pds proftpdpasswd psql: quota resellerconfig: resellerfeatures: resellerpackages: sds sds2 shadow shell ssl: sslcerts: ssldomain sslkeys: suspended: suspendinfo: userconfig: userdata: va: vad: version vf: 0 -
On the new server, Home " Backup " Legacy Backup Configuration
