Can access whm via IP but not via domain

Hi - looking for some advice as to what to check... I can access WHM via the IP e.g. 1.2.3.4/whm and log in as root user But when I try to access via the nameserver domain e.g. server.mydomain.com/whm the same credentials give me "The login is invalid." Also tried just "mydomain.com/whm" but the same result. The domain "mydomain.com" zone A record and also WHM record are both pointing to the server IP.

  Typical! well - now it's working - I guess must have been a DNS propagation issue! :-)

  Sounds like cPHulk temp blocked you for some reason: cPHulk Brute Force Protection - Documentation - cPanel Documentation When cPHulk blocks an IP address or account, it does not identify itself as the source of the block. Instead, the login page displays the following warning message: The login is invalid.
