Disk usage Warning
After the cpanel update this morning I got this message about disk usage warning :
I've never seen this warning for the /usr mount before and was wondering if this only happened during the update ? Are there some temp files left over from update? This is the latest stable update this morning. After further checking found the follow with du -sh command:
My question is what can be safely removed in these folders to reduce dish usage ? Thank you,
The filesystem "/dev/sda3", which is mounted at "/usr", has reached "warn" status because it is 82.78% fullI've never seen this warning for the /usr mount before and was wondering if this only happened during the update ? Are there some temp files left over from update? This is the latest stable update this morning. After further checking found the follow with du -sh command:
/usr/local/ 3.8G
/usr/local/cpanel/ 3.5G My question is what can be safely removed in these folders to reduce dish usage ? Thank you,

The staging directory is mentioned at the bottom of the Update Preferences page: WebHost Manager "Server Configuration "Update Preferences /usr/local/cpanel You might check there. The docs should be of some use as well: How to Manage your Hard Drive Space - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation0 -
Is there still high disk usage after upgrades complete? what can be removed safely from the /usr/local/cpanel folder
I suggest you leave that directory alone and clean up what you can from above it. There are lots of threads on this topic, several similar threads linked to at the bottom of this very thread.0 -
