Webmail works but SMTP not
I have set an email server for a domain example.com as a local server. At the WHM MX Entry Editor I have
MX zone example.org.db
mail.example.com 0
mail.example.com 10
At the registrar DNS records for a domain example.com are
CName:
mail @ 1/2 Hour
MX:
10 @ mail.example.com 1/2 Hour
0 @ mail.example.com 1/2 Hour
revDNS (PTR) is set for mail.example.com and pint to the same IP as @
MXToolbox recognizes MX record properly but when I will do SMTP test it fails whit errors below
- SMTP Valid Hostname: Reverse DNS is not a valid Hostnam
- SMTP Banner Check: Reverse DNS does not match SMTP Banner
I have checked what response is SMTP server giving and it is not mail.example.com but rather a domain name of the server (WHM) itself.
Any clue what can be set wrong?
Thanks

I have go around that Spinning Wheel of Death and had set Send mail from account's dedicated IP address to ON but still I'm getting errors above. EHLO/HELO still is coming as the server (WHM) domain rather than account domain 0 -
It looks like enabling Introduce a delay into the SMTP transaction for unknown hosts and messages detected as spam creates all those issues with SMTP Any thoughts? 0 -

This option configures the SMTP receiver to wait a few additional seconds for a connection when it detects spam messages. The third-party utility is not waiting past the delay. You can add the IP address used by that third-party utility to the Trusted SMTP IP Addresses section of WHM's0
