    Thanks for the links. It seems quite complicated, but if I've understood the info correctly, it's saying that websites using mod_rewrite in htaccess won't work correctly if using mod_userdir protection. As I'm using Wordpress I guess I should say "no thanks" to this feature.

    Apache"s mod_userdir allows users to view their sites by entering a tilde (~) and their username as the URI on a specific host. The Apache mod_userdir Tweak interface in WHM allows you to disable the mod_userdir functionality for your users, or to restrict usage to certain hosts. Generally, it's a good idea to prevent Mod_Userdir access if you don't need it. Instructions for preventing access are found at:
