How do I assign an SSL to a CNAME such as mail.mydomain.com

Ugh, I cannot change the subject line. I meant to say... "How do I assign an SSL to an "A Record" such as mail.mydomain.com" I already have a dedicated IP address and an active SSL for: server.mydomain.com Now I want to assign another SSL to: mail.mydomain.com I have created the SSL for mail.mydomain.com but I cannot figure out how to assign/apply it to the CNAME "mail.mydomain.com". I have tried to do it both from the WHM and the cPanel. FYI, I am doing this because I have users that are sending and receiving mail using both "server.mydomain.com" and "mail.mydomain.com". Recently the users that were using "mail.mydomain.com" started getting a warning message that said there was a URL mismatch. Rather than deal with the numerous calls from users asking what they should do, I decided to simply purchase a second SSL certificate.

  Hello, It's not possible to install a SSL certificate if the domain or subdomain doesn't have it's own VirtualHost. However, this behavior is fixed in cPanel version 60, per this thread: AutoSSL Not So Good For Email Thank you.
