Upgrade from MySQL 5.6 to MariaDB - how much downtime?

    Practically zero. Though you should make a full backup of the entire database just in case.......

    Well, the automated upgrade didn't work. MySQL needed to be manually uninstalled, which caused some downtime.

    Thanks for the concern! My datacenter was familiar with the issue and they were able to troubleshoot it, no problem.
