Merging two accounts with same domain in two servers!
Hi
I know this is an odd issue but it happened and I'm looking for the best possible solution beyond the manual process.
This is my problem.
I have a domain let's say it's: mydomain.com
I created the account in my "First Server" and added some subdomains in it:
sub1.mydomain.com sub2.mydomain.com ....
But due to different requirements of some of subdomains I created another account for "mydomain.com" in my "Second Server" so I added some other subdomains:
sub21.mydomain.com sub22.mydomain.com etc....
I manage the DNS record at 3rdparty DNS provider level to point them out to correct server.
My main site is on my "First Server"
Recently I faced some problems and I want to transfer my main site (and/or some or all of subdomains from one server to another) but it's not possible to use transfer tool or backup(?)
Because I need to transfer all of their data including databases/email accounts and emails etc.
I'd appreciate if someone have an idea to possibly merge these accounts with an automated process.
Best regards

Hello :), You can NOT migrate and merge your account using transfer tool. You will have manually migrate your all content from second server to first server, Here are the some steps. 1) Take a full backup of your account on first server, (If anything goes wrong you can restore your account with this backup) 2) Create your sub-domain on first server and email account through cPanel 3) Migrate your public_html and mail directory from second server to first server using rsync command 4) Create your database and user on first server migrate your databases from second server. 0 -
Thanks for your help. This would be the manual steps which I'm already familiar, I just wanted to know if there are any automated (files+DB+mail accounts/settings) thing, like "disable renaming subdomains when you rename an account" or something. Or Possibly : Convert a subdomain to a new account??!! is it possible? it will resolve my issue Best 0 -

Hello, We currently offer support for converting addon domain names to their own accounts: Convert Addon Domain to Account - Documentation - cPanel Documentation However, this feature doesn't support subdomains at this time. Thus, you would need to manually add the subdomains to the account on the new server, and then transfer over all of the data using a utility such as rsync or FTP. Here's some documentation you may also find helpful: How to Manually Transfer an Account Between Servers - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation How to Manually Migrate Accounts to cPanel from Unsupported Control Panels - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation Let us know if you have any questions about the manual transfer process.
