Reverse dns Setup

Hi Seniors and Sifu, I want to setup PTR Reverse DNS for my server, i refer page below : How to Configure Reverse DNS for BIND in WHM - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation But i not understand the step 3 : [LIST]

Enter the octets or nibbles in an available text box under the Add New Entries Below this Line heading.

Select PTR in the appropriate menu. The Hostname text box will appear.

Enter the hostname that corresponds to the last octet or nibble in the IP address. i also refer the youtube video : [MEDIA=youtube]-hjS7CwLff8[/MEDIA] Still not understand the last step for add in PTR. example my IP is 202.181.141.216 What Should i add for PTR record? Appreciate if someone can help. Thank you very much.

  Hello, In this example, when editing the zone, you would add 216 in the box under the Add New Entries Below this Line heading. If you also controlled 202.181.141.217, and wanted to setup RDNS for that IP, you would edit the same zone, and enter "217" the same way. Keep in mind not all data centers allow for individual control over the RDNS records, so you may want to consult with them first if you have not already done so. Thank you.

  Hi Michael, Thank you for you reply. Yes, i have follow the step and fill in 216 under the Add New Entries. but after submit & save, i unable to found the Reverse DNS record when i check my ip on Reverse IP Lookup - MxToolbox. it show me the result "No ptr Records exist" I think i try to contact my server provider data center about this issue. Thanks again. Michael
