Unable to Backup Remote Mysql Directory
Hi there guys,
I configured cPanel to use a remote database ( galera cluster ) so far so good, then I configured the backups, and configured it to Per Account and Entire MySQL Directory, the account seems to be working but I get the following error: ( Unable to backup MySQL directory for a remote MySQL server. )
In the log file ( /usr/local/cpanel/logs/cpbackup ) I can only see:
2016-10-02 20:02:15 +0100] info [backup] Final state is Backup::PartialFailure (0)
[2016-10-02 20:02:15 +0100] info [backup] Sent Backup::PartialFailure notification,
Apart from that I do not see nothing else, no error connecting to, invalid password, permission denied to or
something like that.
Can anybody explain to me how's this process works? how do to the system connects to the remote database? is that over ssh? an sql connection? just in case I copy root public keys to the db nodes but same issue, and the profile is validated already, its working, users ID are being added to the remote DB.
I also have the mysql service enabled on the local server, do not know if that's good or not.
Thanks
Regards

Hello, It's currently not possible to utilize the "Entire MySQL Directory" backup option when using a remote MySQL server. We implemented a case in cPanel version 58 to address this issue: Fixed case CPANEL-5736: Disallow entire MySQL directory backup selection for remote MySQL. Could you ensure that "Per Account Only" is selected and let us know if the issue persists? Thank you. 0 -
Hi, Do you mean that Per Account Only is supported when a remote database is used? nor even Account and Database? I can handle the remote directory if necessary. Thank you very much for your time and support Regards 0 -
I wanted to say if only Per Account Only option is supported, cannot I chose Account and Database pero user account? 0 -

Hello, I'm referring to the following section of the "WHM >> Backup Configuration" option: Databases Backup SQL Databases Per Account Only Entire MySQL Directory Per Account and Entire MySQL Directory
When using a remote MySQL server, the only supported option is: Per Account Only Thanks!0 -
Ok, thank you very much, I'll handle the DB backup by my own Regards 0
