Restore Database From Remote MySQL
Hi,
Hopefully a simple enquiry. My current VPS is fairly standard, LAMP!
My query is that I also have a second VPS, if I rebuild my first server (re-install cPanel Easyapache/php etc.) but then set it up to use a remote MySQL on my other server, when I restore the customers websites will they restore the MySQL automagically to the remote server?
Or would I have to restore the sites to the same configuration I currently have, THEN create/move the MySQL to the remote setup?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Hello, The "Manage MySQL Feature" feature that allows you to setup a remote MySQL server does not automatically transfer your existing MySQL data. You would have to restore the accounts, and then migrate the MySQL data over to the remote MySQL server using a tool such as "mysqldump". Documentation on this feature is found at: Manage MySQL Profiles - Documentation - cPanel Documentation Thank you. 0
