Recover lost emails from full disk?

My disk filled up and emails were lost with errors like: LMTP error after end of data: 451 4.2.0 Internal error occurred. Refer to server log for more information. [2016-10-17 12:31:23] And log file entries like: Error: write(/home3/user/mail/domain/user/tmp/1476606372.M737903P29676.website) failed: No space left on device I've cleared up disk space but wondering if there's any way to recover or "retry" receipt of these emails? Thanks.

  Since the server issued a 421 error the sending server should, but isn't required to, resend the messages at a later time. In a perfect SMTP world everything will be redelivered.

  Hello, The log output shows the email files were not written to disk, so you'd have to rely for the remote mail server to attempt delivery again in order to see those messages. Thank you.
