Issues with SSL and cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi
I am not sure what is causing this to happen, however:
1. domain.com - redirects to domain.com/cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi where it gives the following error:
As mentioned earlier, I am not sure what has caused to start all this to happen, since it is only a week back these errors started cropping up, while the site has been live for over an year. I've tried modifying the .htaccess files as described here: wiki.apache.org/httpd/RewriteHTTPToHTTPS, but it hasnt helped either. Also, I am not sure what is causing the error in pt.3 to happen. Any pointers would be of great help.
SORRY!

Hello, Could you verify the subdomain points to the same IP address assigned to the cPanel account? Have you tried clearing your browser and DNS cache? Thank you. 0 -
Hi, I am also having similar problem. Spend lots of time on researching this issue. I am very new to cPanel and I am trying to setup a server so that it can host few sites for my host company. I can access WHM and cPanel but cannot access the main page (X.X.X.X). It always redirects to this default page Error (domain page redirects ):cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi Sorry! If you are the owner of this website, please contact your hosting provider: webmaster@X.X.X.X It is possible you have reached this page because: The IP address has changed. here has been a server misconfiguration. The site may have moved to a different server. I managed to edit .htaccess file and checked my DNS setting but still no luck. Thank you in advance :) 0 -
Hello @rinchen, Your access level shows "Reseller Owner". Have you reported the issue to your reseller hosting provider so they can take a closer look? Thank you. 0 -
Hi Michael, thank you so much for your response. I was using sub domain of our website. Will have to do some research on that. 0 -
Hi Michael, I have changed my access level to root administrator but still my webpage gives the same issue. After installing cPanel I can access my WHM And cPanel successfully but I just do not know what I am suppose to see in the main page (X.X.X.X). As per my research I am suppose to see "it works" message but instead I am redirected to this page"cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi". Please help :) 0 -
Hello, Can you verify the domain name you are accessing in your web browser resolves to the IP address associated with the cPanel account? If so, try clearing your browser cache to see if that helps address the issue. Also, just to confirm, have you created a cPanel account from WHM using "WHM >> Create A New Account"? Thank you. 0 -
Hi Micheal, Thanks for your response. No, my domain name doesnot resolves to the Ip address associated with it. I followed a tutorial and when I enter the command "dig +short @localhost $hostname" it woudnot show anything. Could you kindly guide on how to sort it out or some links where I can follow. Yes, I have created few accounts and they donot not work too. I have cleared browser cache and still does not work. Your help is much appreciated 0 -

Make sure you have setup the name servers properly and your domain name is using the correct name servers at the domain registrar: How to Set Up Nameservers in a cPanel Environment - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation Thank you.0 -
