Can I bump this? I'm still trying to learn where world_writable.txt and no_owner.txt came from (what generates it and put it in my /home/ folder?)

More details might be useful, your OP has none really other than a mention of some file(s). The image posted is of no use either.

Hi, I think your system admin has setup script on the server to find out word writable directory and save script output path in world_writable.txt file. You have to find that script on the server or check with you system admin.

SysSachin is correct. Such scripts are available in the WHMxtra set of addons/plugins. And they save the results of the 777 and noid scans with those exact same filenames... SO, in the end, nothing nefarious. Though you might want to see if you are able to correct the files permissions as output within the worldwritable txt. 777 permissions are generally unsafe.

Hi @Infopro @SysSachin @ElviCities, Thanks for the replies. After you guys made it pretty clear it wasn't automated by some cPanel script, it tweaked my memory that I had followed some steps in the cPanel documentation to secure my server so I went back through it and recalled following these steps in the following screenshot in the Tips to Make Your Server More Secure KB documentation. I must've been in my home folder at the time, so it was me all along! Sorry for wasting everyone's time. Thanks again. 42301
