Mail Down: Exceeded its allotted quota of disk blocks
Hello,
I got a customer complaining a about a error 500 at WebMail saying "the system user "...." has exceeded its allotted quota of disk blocks".
What is "quota of disk blocks"? What might have caused this and how should I fix it to avoid the problem again?

Thank you.

Hello, Could you verify if the system has free inodes? You can use this command: df -i
If so, could you also verify if the system uses CloudLinux? CloudLinux allows for individual inode limits that you can configure per-account. It's possible the account is at it's limit: CloudLinux Documentation Let us know if this information helps. Thanks!0 -
Thanks for the reply. I'm using CloudLinux indeed. The inode limits are set to unlimited (0) for all packages / accounts. The system global usage is about 10%. Are you sure this was caused by inode limits? I'm not sure because no other customers at that server complained about this issue. 0 -
the system user "...." has exceeded its allotted quota of disk blocks
Yes, The error message is showing that there is issue with inodes. If you are facing issue only one account then please make sure that the account is pointing to your server.0 -
Could you open a support ticket using the link in my signature if the issue persists? You can post the ticket number here so we can update this thread with the outcome. Thank you. 0
