Backups - Remote destination validation

I have a similar problem, I get
Error: Validation for transport "backupserver" failed: Could not delete the file we had uploaded onto the server: Couldn't delete remote file: No such file
I have connected via command line to test connection, which works. I can also see validate.tmp files accumulating via sftp, but when i select them, I get the same errors; "No such file"

  Hello, A couple of internal cases were recently opened regarding the validation of remote backup destinations. Could you verify which version of cPanel is installed on this system? You can use the following command to check:
  cat /usr/local/cpanel/version
  Also, what are you setting as your backup destination directory (if any)? Thank you.
