Hello, MySQL 5.6 is installed by default on new installations of cPanel, and we strongly recommend that you do not attempt to downgrade MySQL or MariaDB. Could you let us know what in-particular isn't working in MySQL 5.6? Thank you.

I bought an application that only works on Mysql 5.5 and with Easyapache 3, I have it working on another server I want to switch to a new one but it's complicated because it always installs Mysql 5.6 and Easyapache 4. I want to install Mysql 5.5 and Easyapache 3. How do I do that?

Hello, You would have to configure /var/cpanel/cpanel.config before the cPanel installation process starts via the instructions on the following document: Installation Guide - Customize Your Installation - Documentation - cPanel Documentation The specific line to use is:
    mysql-version=5.5
    Thank you.
