    Hello, I think you are ting to add IP through cPanel and that's why IP added in .htaccess. If you want to add IP in server firewall then you need to have root access to block IP.

    Yes by Cpanel, but it does not add to the htaccess when it should be added. I have root access to WHM.

    Hello, Blocking an IP address via "cPanel >> IP Blocker" should automatically add the following entry to the .htaccess file within the /home/$username/public_html directory:
    deny from 1.2.3.4
    Could you let us know of any output to /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log when using the "IP Blocker" permissions? What are the permissions/ownership values on the account's .htaccess file? Thank you.
