This was said to me: You can definitely use a cPanel AutoSSL certificate for any domain that is pointed to this server including subdomains. There is also a free hostname SSL that will cover the hostname of the server just as long as the subdomain for the hostname points to this server. In order to use this you'd need to pause CloudFlare on the hostname though, because the domain validation needs to see that the domain resolves to this server.
Anyone knows what is meant by "There is also a free hostname SSL that will cover the hostname of the server", is it mean WHM/Service Configuration/Manage Service SSL Certificates ? Yes, it works for WHM, but not for hostname in my case. I assume i will have to try disabling cloudflare and try AutoSSL again if i succeed for this subdomain/hostname.

Hello, That's in reference to the information documented ta: Manage Service SSL Certificates - Documentation - cPanel Documentation However, one issue I'd like to bring up is that it's not advised to use your server's hostname as a domain name or subdomain under one of the accounts. Instead, I suggest making the hostname a FQDN such as "server1.domain.tld", and then setting up the subdomain you want to use for website hosting with SSL as it's own separate cPanel account. Thank you.
