MariaDB sql_mode

I use MariaDB and when I configure sql_mode in the /etc/my.cnf file it does not work. Sql_mode always retains the same default value.

  Check and see if you have any additional *.cnf files that are being picked up and reverting the change. mysqld Configuration Files and Groups Configuring MariaDB with my.cnf

  Hello, Yes, in particular, check to see if the following file exists: /usr/my.cnf If so, you can remove it to ensure /etc/my.cnf is the only file utilized for MySQL configuration values. Thank you.
