New public_html sub-directories are 775, not 755

I found this thread Files & Folders Permissions and after reading the replies I've decided to post here. I have a GoDaddy VPS. I have root WHM access. As root, I create a new account. I then connect via FTP and create a new folder within the public_html folder. That folder's default permissions are 775, not 755. What can I do to ensure that public_html folders are created with 755 permissions for all of my current and future accounts?

  Hello, Could you verify if you are connecting via FTP, or via SFTP? The reported issue seems similar to the behavior reported in the following thread:

  Bingo. I was connecting via SFTP. I've changed the connection protocol to FTP and now all new folders that I create have permissions of 755. Thank you!
