Can't change IP address

I am having an issue in that I can't change an IP address. Changing ip for 123.tld (divotlbx) to 1.2.3.144 Setting up for ip change..... Done [MY COMMENT: NOT DONE] Sorry, 1.2.3.144 is in use by another domain name and is not a shared ip. Yet 1.2.3.144 is a shared IP: 1.2.3.144 Main/shared IP for: ccexXXXX, daveXXXX, divtXXXX, dootXXXX, drytXXXX, and hathXXXX Under the Show/Edit Reserved IP's, it does not show 'any' IP as being reserved and all are shared. I did a reinstall of WHM 60.0 (build 28) but that didn't help. I had to get HostGator personnel to manually change the IP address. Anyone know why this functionality is no longer working?

  Manage Reseller's Shared IP: 1.2.3.144 (shared by ccexXXXX, daveXXXX, divoXXXX, divtXXXX, and 3 others.

  You'd need to change the shared IP address delegated to those resellers to another IP address or the main shared IP address of the server if you want to free that IP address for use as a dedicated IP: Manage Reseller's Shared IP - Documentation - cPanel Documentation Let us know if this helps.   There are no resellers on the server at all. Everything is assigned to 'root'.

  Hello, Could you view the /etc/domainips file and verify if any domain names are listed as associated with the affected IP address? EX:
  cat /etc/domainips
