Hello, Could you let us know the specific error message that appears in /usr/local/cpanel/logs/license_log before updating the license with the /usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt command? Thank you.

Hello, The logs show the license check is successful in both attempts. Is it possible the hostname configured for this VPS from the hardware node is changing upon reboot? If so, use your VPS management utility if it's offered to ensure the hostname matches what you have configured on the server. If not, feel free to open a support ticket using the link in my signature so we can take a closer look. You can post the ticket number here and we can update this thread with the outcome. Thank you.

Hello, To update, internal case CPANEL-8279 will ensure cpsrvd starts only after the network is online. This will help to prevent occurrences of the "Invalid License File" message in WHM after a reboot. The resolution is included with cPanel version 62. Information about the build and release process is available at: Product Versions and the Release Process - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation Thank you.

Hi - I signed up just to reply back to this. FYI two days ago cpupdate ran and installed 60.0.28 which caused CSF/LFD to complain of high resource usage and suspicious process RPC, that was issue one. I ended up doing a reboot and lost my license as the OP. Manually added it back with /usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt reboot, license gone again. Found this thread and am hopeful that 62 comes out soon. In the meantime, is there a manual fix? What's more - is RPC required since it's a pre-req for quota which is a prereq for some cpanel piece or another. Thanks

You can find the tentative schedule for production releases under the "Production releases" section at: Product Versions and the Release Process - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation The manual workaround in the meantime is to restart the cpsrvd service after the system reboots via the following command:
    /scripts/restartsrv_cpsrvd
What's more - is RPC required since it's a pre-req for quota which is a prereq for some cpanel piece or another.

This topic is discussed at: In Progress - rpcbind got installed. Feel free to add additional questions to that thread. Thanks!

Hi, We have just experienced the same problem after a graceful restart. Required logging in as root and doing a /usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt command to resolve the issue. As per previous posts, nothing untoward showing in the license_log. The server is running cPanel vs 62.0.15. Any help appreciated as to why this happened?

Hello, Did you make a change to the kernel version upon reboot? If so, please ensure you review the following thread: Unactivated License File after Upgrading Kernel Thank you.
