    Do you have free space on your VPS ? Might be there is no free space on your server. Also, Have you tried manually connecting to the remote backup server via SFTP from your server's command line and then uploading/downloading a test file?

    I have enough free space. I was able to connect and upload a test file without issue, but, was not able to create a directory or remove the test file I created. How do i configure proFTPd to perform those actions?

    Hello, Please note that SFTP and FTP are different protocols. SFTP is part of the SSH protocol.

    Did you try testing with the "sftp" command from the cPanel server to the remote backup server? Thank you.

    Woah! I dint knew that. When i logged into SFTP, and tried creating directory it showed disk quota exceeded. And I finally managed to fix this problem ! Thanks everyone!
