Upgrading from OpenSSL 1.0.1 Question

Hi, I recently noticed I'm currently running OpenSSL 1.0.1e-48 and since 1.0.1 EoL is December 31st is it safe to update myself to 1.0.2 or wait for cPanel to push an update? As everything I've managed to find so far either suggests to not upgrade or there is a lack of information. Thanks :)

  Hello, OpenSSL updates are provided by your OS (e.g. Red Hat, CentOS, or Cloud Linux) as opposed to cPanel. There's a thread you may find helpful at: OpenSSL CVE-2016-2107 and CVE-2016-2108 Thanks!
