Nameservers Shared on 2 Dedicated Servers
This has been driving me nuts for years and I believe has caused so many unnecessary problems. Our former it guy setup our name servers and our dedicated servers. We just had our servers moved to a new location and the IT guy mentioned that they are set up wrong.
Here is the setup
Server 1:
[LIST]
has nameserver domain "serverdns.com"
Name Server selection = BIND
IPv4 set to IP address #1 (IP#1)
Name servers set to
[LIST]
ns1.serverdns.com with IP#2 and
ns2.serverdns.com with IP#1
Server 2:
[LIST]
Name Server selection = BIND
IPv4 set to IP address #1 (IP#2)
Name servers set to
[LIST]
ns1.serverdns.com with IP#2 and
ns2.serverdns.com with IP#3 (assigned to Server1) ** this must be wrong**
Can someone tell me if there is a better way to do this?
Should I add ns3 and ns4?

Hello, You should setup NS3/NS4 with their own IP addresses unless you are using an existing DNS cluster, or unless you'd prefer to setup a DNS cluster using the instructions at: Guide to DNS Cluster Configurations - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation Note that if you prefer to setup a cluster in order to use the same name servers on both cPanel servers, then you'd want to setup an additional server and install cPanel DNS-Only: DNS FAQ - Documentation - cPanel Documentation Thank you.0
