cPanel to cPanel Move Strategy
I am trying to determine the best strategy for migrating cPanel accounts from one provider to another that will result in the least amount of disruption for my clients.
All of the accounts are for domains that are registered with Enom, and there they are all assigned nameservers ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com.
The old server is alpha.mydomain.com and, under Tweak Settings, is assigned the above nameservers. There are DNS records on this server for all the accounts I want to move. mydomain.com is also hosted on this server.
The new server is called beta.mydomain.com. I have added a CNAME record on the old server for beta so that this name resolves to the new server. Right now, another set of nameservers is assigned to this server under Tweak Settings. (When it is all said and done, I want ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com to be the nameservers on the new server.)
I've done some experimenting, and I see that if I check Express Transfer in the Transfer Tool, the DNS records on the old server are changed to point to the new server, although it seemed to take a few hours before the domain actually started resolving to the new address. Nevertheless, this appears to be where I should start.
What is not clear to me is what to do when (and after) I transfer mydomain.com to the new server. The goal would be to not have to change the nameserver entries at Enom but, again, I am looking for the path of least disruption. Any insight would be appreciated.
The new provider is a VPS at GoDaddy, if that is helpful.

Hello, You'd leave the name servers the same, and simply update the name server IP addresses for your name servers at the domain registrar, and then update the "A" records for those name servers in the associated DNS zones on the cPanel server.
