Libmysql Option in CloudLinux Concerns

Hi, I wanted to reach out to Cloudlinux via this forum and ask you please to make sure that you continue to offer the old MySQL libraries in the PHP selector. With Easyapache 4, it would appear that cpanel have removed support for libmysqlclient libraries and only offer the native mysqlnd drivers. This is a major problem for us because we have a large user base, many of our customers have older databases that were created with the old 16 character password hashing, so we've been unable to upgrade MySQL from 5.5 to 5.6 on many of our servers until we have manually changed all the MySQL user passwords and updated each of our users applications accordingly. This is a very time consuming process. Even when using MySQL 5.5, switching to the native MySQL drivers for PHP forces the new authentication method and prevents the websites from working. We have around 4000 MySQL users that still need manually updating. This is going to take us around six months to complete. We are relying on the PHP selector of CloudLinux to keep these websites alive. We offer the old libraries via the PHP selector and the native drivers via the native cpanel PHP installation. This is working fine as we are able to offer both options to our users, but we would be in real trouble if support for libmysql was removed. So please CloudLinux, don't cut our lifeline here - please keep support for the old libraries available for as long as you possibly can! Many thanks!

  As long as you use PHP-Selector and alt-php packages you are safe. CloudLinux still have support for even MySQL 5.0 etc. Hardened PHP ( alt-php* ) packages was specially designed to keep all old libraries and old php versions.
