Update SSL certificate after new domain name
Firstly know I am a complete novice trying to look after a website on a reseller hosting share server environment.
In the last week we spilt our site, some apps and the current domain name were transferred to another hoster/server. The existing file structures on our existing server and ip were assigned a new domain name. When I look in cPanel software has updated some details when I look in Manage SSL sites. I can see :-
[LIST]
olddomain.com
newdomain.com
107.xxx.xxx.xxx
Yes
2/8/17
/public_html
UninstallUpdate CertificateCertificate DetailsUse Certificate for New Site
I need to update or create a new cPanel certificate for newdomain.com and I think mail.newdomain.com and I don't know how. I looked at the creation process but it wants a business address (our site is a film fan club and not a business). Our site is up but with SSL warnings. I have tried to have this resolved by our hoster but I'm getting nowhere.
Can anyone give me some help here. Thanks.

Hi you can install an ssl via WHM and you can buy and ssl cert from comodo or any provider really cheap and just use your address not business. 0 -
I'm on a shared server, I don't have access to WHM, I've asked the reseller to do it on our behalf, I'll have to wait to see what comes of that. 0 -
Ok your profile says cPanel Access Level:Root Administrator But you don't need whm access you can install one via cPanel 0 -

Hello, I recommend consulting with your hosting provider to determine the best course of action. Let us know if you have any additional questions. Thank you.0 -
Well my host deleted the old certificate and when I went in yesterday morning a certificate was in place for the new domain name. This is shown to expire :- Issuer Organization: cPanel, Inc. Expiration: Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 11:59:59 PM UTC Certificate Type: Authority Issued Certificate Do these certificates just automatically update? 0 -
Hello Neil, That suggests your hosting provider uses the AutoSSL feature, which will automatically install a SSL certificate for your domain name once it completes the validation process. You can find more information about AutoSSL at: Manage AutoSSL - Documentation - cPanel Documentation Thank you. 0
