    Hi you can install an ssl via WHM and you can buy and ssl cert from comodo or any provider really cheap and just use your address not business.

    I'm on a shared server, I don't have access to WHM, I've asked the reseller to do it on our behalf, I'll have to wait to see what comes of that.

    Ok your profile says cPanel Access Level:Root Administrator But you don't need whm access you can install one via cPanel

    Well my host deleted the old certificate and when I went in yesterday morning a certificate was in place for the new domain name. This is shown to expire :- Issuer Organization: cPanel, Inc. Expiration: Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 11:59:59 PM UTC Certificate Type: Authority Issued Certificate Do these certificates just automatically update?

    Hello Neil, That suggests your hosting provider uses the AutoSSL feature, which will automatically install a SSL certificate for your domain name once it completes the validation process.
