Hello everyone, I noticed that after 2017 began, cPanel started retaining more than 1 daily backup, which is the number specified in backup configuration, I'm not sure whether this is a bug, or some mis-configuration on my part, it keeps all the old backups which is eventually filling the entire disk space! I've set it to retain 1 daily, weekly, monthly backup! But apparently the setting is being ignored I have WHM 60.0 (build 28), so what can I do to take care of this issue? Thank you

Do you have backup notification alerts enabled? (i.e. does the server email you to say a backup has been completed). Backups being retained like this is usually the case when backups have failed to complete successfully and therefore older backups are not deleted.

Hello, It's likely the backup pruning is failing due to failed backups for some of the accounts on the system. This is discussed on the following thread: In Progress - Backup pruning behavior in cPanel 60 Thank you.

I'm happy to see you were able to determine the cause of the problem. Thank you for updating us with the outcome.
