Shared Server keeps getting black listed.
I'm having a horrible issue.
I'm running a shared CPanel server and some customers have the same Ip addresss(dont' know if that matters) But when I allow people to host mail on the server and someone get hacked and the server starts sending out spam. It blacklists that Ip that everyone is sharing...
My questions is how do all these larger hosting companies allow mail to be hosted in cPanel without getting other domains blacklisted?

Well it looks like some of your customers are using the server for bulk emailing which is one of the reason of getting the server black listed. If the passwords of the mail accounts are weak then thats the reason of getting hacked. You can view the email statistics through Mail Statistics option in WHM and can trance the spammer email ID . In order to avoid these issues, you have to secure and harden the server making sure that the exim is secured too. This can be done through Tweak settings in WHM. You have to enable SMTP restrictions, set the mail sending limits per hour etc... Large hosting companies are very particular managing these things, you have to scan the server with maldet to see if there are malicious scripts running on the server generating spams etc... 0 -
Hello, To avoid such issue you have to always scan all accounts data, Also monitor server mail queue using monitoring tool. For example if there are xxx mails are in the queue then you will get alert on your mail ID and you can instantly check the mails logs to find out which user sending mails. 0 -
