Websites not loading on Opera mini
Not clear whether this is a cPanel issue but we have a server running cPanel and all websites hosted on it cannot load in mobile browser, esp. Opera Mini.
We have checked and ensured relevant IP addresses are not blocked but still we can't get sites on the server to load in mobile.
Any idea?

Hi, Please go through the logs once, check if the access logs displays anything when you actually access the website to see if the packet is coming to the server from your mobile. Once you do that, check the error logs.. I think it is with Apache that doing this. Please check the logs once to get an overview on the situation and let us know here, so the discussion can be taken forward.. 0 -
Hello, Do you notice any output to /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log when attempting to open a website from a mobile browser? Is there a particular error message displayed in the browser when attempting to open a website? Thank you. 0 -

There's no error message. I have checked on 2 logs while trying to access the site: # tail -f /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log | grep site # tail -f /usr/local/apache/domlogs/site.com and both don't show any entry when accessed via Opera Mini. The error on the phone: " Could not locate remote server You tried to access this address Example Domain. which is currently unavailable . Please make sure the Web address (URL) is correctly spelt and punctuated. then try reloading the page. Make sure your internet connection is active and check whether other applications that rely on the same connection are working. " I have also checked the iptables and can't see any entry for the IP address. But I realized the error on the mobile browser shows 'https'. Could this be the problem? Thanks.0 -

Hello, For instance, are you accessing the non-https URL, and then automatically redirected to the https URL? If so, do any rules exist in the account's .htaccess file within the website's document root that automatically redirect visitors to the https URL? Thank you.0 -

I just realised the error message has 'https'. But I doubt there's a redirect since such redirect will show in the logs. 2ndly, all sites on the server cannot be accessed via Opera Mini, so I don't think it's .htacess. 3rd, cPanel itself and webmail cannot be accessed via Opera Mini. 4th, these issues are being experienced by all users (who number 100s) so problem can't be on user end. 5th, we also received this complain: " I'm trying to connect Jetpack to wordpress.com and it's popping an error. "Error Details: The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site example.com [HTTP 404]. Ask your web host if they allow connections from WordPress.com." So, do you allow connections from WordPress.com? " while this is not a mobile issue it seems related. Generally, it appears there's a blockage but it doesn't show on firewall. We're unable to tell where else the blockage could be occurring.0 -
Hi, Instead of using the filter in the error logs, try using it as it is like. tail -f /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log and browse the site, check if anything is logged. OR tail -f /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log | grep 0 -
tail -f /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log | grep
Doesn't show anything. On 2nd thought IP might not be a problem since on same phone other browsers work except Opera Mini.0 -

Some Opera proxy IPs had been blocked. After unblocking them the Opera Mini now works. 0 -
I'm happy to see the issue is now resolved. Thank you for updating us with the outcome. 0
