Email account won't delete

Hey there, Such a weird error I can't seem to figure out. I have an email that isn't used anymore on an addon domain, I went to delete that email and I get the this: "(XID hs64jh) You do not have an email account named...". I have deleted other accounts successfully but one seems stuck. I am not deleting the addon domain, I have tried renaming the email_accounts.cache and email_accounts.yaml as suggested by searches online but it has no effect. It doesn't even seem to recreate these files when I restart cpanel. Is there something bigger going on? Thanks for any ideas.

  Hello, Check the following locations to see if you notice any entries for this email account:
  /home/$username/etc/$addon-domain.tld/passwd /home/$username/etc/$addon-domain.tld/shadow /home/$username/mail/$addon-domain.tld/

  Yes there exists entries in all three, in the mail/$addon-domain.tld/ the entry has an @ at the end. It doesn't seem to be a folder like the others. Thanks for the assistance.

  Hello, You can try manually removing the entries for that email account from those files and then re-create the email account through cPanel. That should allow you to then delete the email account via cPanel to ensure it's properly removed. Thank you.

  That worked! Any idea what happened to cause this issue so I don't repeat it in the future? Thanks again!

  Hello, This generally happens if the initial removal attempt failed, or individual files under the account's home directory were incorrectly restored or modified at some in the past. Thank you.
