Manually Remove Backups

Hey guys So I have a VPS server with GoDaddy. I recently enabled the Backup function on WHM. I configured it to make 4 backups a week on a few of the most important account I am hosting. Yesterday I started getting notifications that I am running out of diskspace. I immediately disabled the backups, which then left me with just under 10% of diskspace left. I was under the impression that the older backups would be deleted. Not the case. And I couldn't find a setting in the Backup Config to delete old backups. I tried to run a few scripts in SSH to delete old backups but it didn't help. Please could someone please give me the script to run that will delete the backups made by WHM Backup Service? You will be forever in my debt and we will become best mates, I am sure :)

  If you have root access of the server check the either /backup directory or /home/backup directory where you would find the backups. The backups are in .tar.gz file format. So you can simply remove those backups.

  Thx for the prompt response. I have tried that, but even though my server says I have root access it seem I do not have full access. When I try to log in as root it says permission denied, but when I use my other root username it works fine but I cannot access the root home folder. Is there another way of browsing the server files from you whm and to delete the backups from there? See attached, this is the only files I see.

  Click the Backup Configuration icon in WHM, then scroll to the bottom. Do you have any destinations added under "Additional Destinations". ? If not, do you have "Retain backups in the default backup directory." checked? If yes, what does it say in the "Default Backup Directory" field? Ex. /backup The screenshot you are showing is you being logged in as a cPanel user, you cannot access /backup which is most likely where your backups are being taken. While you are logged into ascento user, try typing:
  # su
  it should prompt for the root password, try entering it in and see if you get logged in as root.

  Hi there. Thank you, I managed to su in as root just before you replied lol. I found the backup files and is browsing through them now. Thank you so much!
