The service ipaliases appears to be down.
Hi,
I've been getting 100's of this warning and I'm not able to resolve the issue. I've tried restarting the ipaliases service with now luck. This is the msg from the error email:

Hello, Check to see what's configured for the following option in "WHM >> Basic WebHost Manager Setup" under the "Basic Config" tab: The ethernet device onto which new IP addresses are added. Devices detected with at least one IP are listed in the drop-down, or you may specify another device. Does it match the device name you see when using the "ifconfig" command? Thank you. 0 -

As far as I understand it's not matching. Under the "Basic Config" tab the option is listed under "Other: enp2s0" and my results under ifconfig are: eno1, eth0, lo. Should I change my setting under basic config to eth0?0 -
Hello, Yes, update the setting in WHM to the default value instead of "Other" if you can confirm the values listed in the drop-down match what you see when using the ifconfig command. Thank you. 0 -

I've changed the setting, but the service status still shows as being down in WHM, although ipaliases status in ssh gives me this:Feb 21 19:13:24 travelforlife.dedicated.co.za systemd[1]: Starting cPanel IP aliases service... Feb 21 19:13:24 travelforlife.dedicated.co.za ipaliases[18565]: Bringing up eth0:cp1 [ OK ] Feb 21 19:13:24 travelforlife.dedicated.co.za ipaliases[18565]: Routing 197.242.156.127 [ OK ] Feb 21 19:13:24 travelforlife.dedicated.co.za systemd[1]: Started cPanel IP aliases service.
Does this mean it's back online? It's back online! Thank you!0 -
Hello, "WHM >> Service Status" is not a live status indicator. Check to see if the status changes after the next Chkservd monitoring attempt (it runs every 5 minutes). Thank you. 0 -

Today this error came back. Except now it was the other way around. It seems that "eth0" became the other option and "enp2s0" was default but not selected making ipaliases go down again. Is there something happening causing this to happen like some restart of the server or something? Or is this just going to happen all the time? Can I perhaps setup something to automatically change this setting for me?0 -
